The highly acclaimed Black Ops series is making a comeback with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, a direct sequel to the original and fan-favorite Call of Duty: Black Ops. Fans will be immersed in the volatile geopolitical landscape of the early 1980s, as the game drops them into the depths of the Cold War.

In the gripping single-player campaign, players will confront historical figures and hard truths, battling around the globe as elite operatives. They will follow the trail of a shadowy figure named Perseus, who is on a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and alter the course of history.

Alongside the iconic characters of Woods, Mason, and Hudson, players will team up with a new cast of operatives to uncover and stop a plot that has been decades in the making. The campaign promises to take players on a thrilling journey, where nothing is ever as it seems.

For PlayStation 4 users, the physical disc version of the game will be playable on the PlayStation 5 system. However, this version will not include the higher framerates, hardware-based ray-tracing, and faster load times available in the dedicated PlayStation 5 edition. Conversely, the PlayStation 5 disc is not playable on the PlayStation 4 system.

PlayStation 4 players can upgrade their physical version to the PlayStation 5 digital version for a $10 fee through the PlayStation Store. To access and play the digital PlayStation 5 upgrade, the original PlayStation 4 disc will be required in the PlayStation 5 system.
